Roblox enables parents to prevent experiences and friends

Roblox, the famous gaming platform directed towards PRETEANS, has made significant updates to its safety policy last year after accusations of insufficient safety measures for children, which can expose them to risks such as grooming, frank content and violent materials.

On Wednesday, the company announced three new advantages to combat parents, including its option to prevent access to certain experiences or people in the list of friends of their children, as well as the ability to track what tries their child most of the time.

These updates implemented a strict approach regarding how to play children on the platform. To reach the new controls, parents first need to link the Roblox account with their child’s account after checking themselves with an identifier or credit card. They can then manage their children’s experience by going to “parental controls”.

In the past, parents were able to see the list of friends of their children, but the feature of blocking new friends is a step forward, and enabling parents to report individuals who believe they may be harmful, preventing them from direct correspondence to their children. Note that children under the age of 13 are unable to cancel the ban of the users whose parents have been restricted, but they can ask for permission from their parents to do so.

Although parents already have the option to review or modify the level of content ripening at the expense of their child, this new ban on the level of experience provides more accurate control of parents. Children can display this list and they can request parental approval to cancel the ban on experiences.

In addition, parents can see the twentieth experiences in which their child participated with the most during the past week, which is organized by the total time spent. Roblox previously launched parents’ ability to monitor and set borders on the daily screen time of their children.
