Elon Musk’s Ai, Xai, gets a million square feet of a property in Memphis

Xai, Elon Musk AI, has acquired a million square feet property in southwest Memphis to expand the imprint of the artificial intelligence data center, according to a press release issued by the Chamber of Commerce in Memphis.
The new land will host the infrastructure to complete the current Memphis data center in Xai.
“The acquisition of Xai for this property guarantees that we will remain at the forefront of creating artificial intelligence, here in Memphis,” said Brinant May, director of Xai in a statement.
It was not immediately clear whether the expansion was linked to a lease contract that was previously announced on a 522 -acre location in Memphis.
Xai hungry for artificial intelligence devices. According to reports, the startup company recently built a second data center in Atlanta with $ 700 million and other equipment. It also signed a deal with Dell to buy 5 billion dollars packed servers.
Xai uses her data centers to train and operate her family from AI and GROK models. The company plans to upgrade its primary -based facility, called Colossus, to a million NVIDIA GPUS at some point this year, up from 100,000 last year.
Some residents have criticized the continuous expansion of Xai in Memphis, arguing that it would avoid the network and increase the air quality in the area. To try to win it, Xai provided the local tool with the Tesla manufactured batteries and the establishment of a water recycling factory.
Partially to finance infrastructure projects for Amnesty International, it is said that Xai is discussing a $ 10 billion tour of donation that would estimate the company at $ 75 billion. Xai closed the last financing round, which amounted to $ 6 billion, in late 2024.
